Champions Selected At Kansas Angus Futurity Junior Show

Kansas junior Angus members led 101 entries at the 2010 Kansas Angus Futurity Junior Show, Jan. 24 in Hutchinson, Kan. Kyle Conley, Sulphur, Okla., evaluated the 70 owned females, 14 bred-and-owned females, two bred-and-owned bulls, three cow-calf pairs, and 12 steers before naming champions.
McCurry Blackcap 9024 was named grand champion owned female after first winning spring calf champion. Tanner Rayl, Hutchinson, Kan., owns the March 2009 daughter of Marands M-W Assassin 518.
Sedgwicks Barbara 145W claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. Courtenay DeHoff, Tonganoxie, Kan., owns the March 2009 daughter of B C Lookout 7024. She first won the reserve spring calf champion title.
Cody Theis, Leavenworth, Kan., led AVF Sara 5019 to grand champion bred-and-owned female honors. The March 2009 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682 first won spring calf champion.
R&L CH Miss Pride 8074 won the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female title after being selected as senior calf champion. Cale Hinrichsen, Westmoreland, Kan., owns the November 2008 daughter of BC Marathon Black Bird 306-6.
LLP W3 The Look T22 claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors. Lauren Prill, Wichita, Kan., owns the January 2009 son of O C C The Look 873K.
Conner’s Double O Sevin was selected as the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Conner Deckinger, Sabetha, Kan., owns the February 2009 son of D 5 A Lace’s New Fame 3285.
Dylan Bair, Hutchinson, Kan., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Sedgwicks Princess T350 is a September 2007 daughter of S A V 8180 Traveler 004. Her calf is an April 2008 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C. She also won the supreme champion AJ McCurry memorial award.
Bryanna Hite, Valley Center, Kan., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. HRD Bardmere 123 is a September 2007 daughter of S A V 8180 Traveler 004. Her calf is a May 2008 daughter of O C C Magnitude 805M.
BURNS hot roddie 98 claimed grand champion steer honors. Jennifer Hager, Stafford, Kan., owns the March 2009 son of Gambles Hot Rod.
Grady Dickerson, Paradise, Kan., led Bar S 7803 Freedom 9583 to the reserve grand champion steer title. He is a March 2009 son of Bar S FREEDOM 7803.
